Terms of Service & Privacy Policy

1. Terms of Service

Welcome to Sports Squares ("the App," "we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the Sports Squares mobile application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

Sports Squares is a social, entertainment-based football squares game built on the Solana blockchain. The App allows users to purchase squares on a 10x10 grid using USDC (a digital stablecoin), with prizes distributed to square owners based on end-of-quarter game scores.

2. How It Works

The Grid

Each game features a 10x10 grid (100 squares total) representing all possible combinations of last-digit scores for two competing teams. Rows represent one team's last score digit (0-9) and columns represent the other team's last score digit (0-9).

Purchasing Squares

Users purchase squares using USDC through a connected Solana wallet. Square prices vary based on historical probability of the associated score digits. All purchases are recorded on the Solana blockchain via transaction memos and are visible to all participants.

Prize Pools

When a grid of 100 squares is fully sold, the prize pool is distributed across four quarters of the associated game:

• Quarter 1: 15% of the pool
• Quarter 2: 20% of the pool
• Quarter 3: 25% of the pool
• Final Score: 40% of the pool

Winners

At the end of each quarter, the winning square is determined by the last digit of each team's score. The owner of the corresponding square receives the designated percentage of the prize pool.

Multiple Pools

Once a pool of 100 squares is fully sold, a new pool opens automatically. Each pool operates independently with its own prize distribution.

3. Payments & Blockchain

USDC Payments

All transactions are conducted in USDC (USD Coin) on the Solana blockchain. You are responsible for ensuring you have sufficient USDC in your connected wallet to complete any purchase. All payments are sent directly to the game's treasury wallet.

Transaction Fees

Solana network transaction fees (typically fractions of a cent) are paid by the user's wallet. These fees are standard Solana network costs and are not collected by Sports Squares.

On-Chain Transparency

All square purchases and score entries are recorded on the Solana blockchain as transaction memos, ensuring full transparency and verifiability. Any participant can independently verify ownership and game results on-chain.

Prize Distribution

Prizes are distributed manually by the game administrator via USDC transfers to winning wallet addresses. Prize distribution will occur as promptly as reasonably possible following the conclusion of each relevant quarter.

4. Risks & Disclaimers

Blockchain Risks

You acknowledge and accept the inherent risks of using blockchain technology, including but not limited to:

• Network congestion or downtime on the Solana blockchain
• Wallet security is your sole responsibility
• Loss of access to your wallet or private keys may result in permanent loss of funds
• Smart contract or application bugs, though we strive to minimize these
• Fluctuations in the value of USDC or other digital assets

No Guarantee of Returns

Purchasing a square does not guarantee any return or prize. Winning is determined entirely by the outcome of the associated sporting event, which is outside the control of Sports Squares.

Game Cancellation

In the unlikely event that the associated sporting event is canceled, postponed, or otherwise materially altered, the game administrator will make reasonable efforts to refund participants or adjust the game accordingly. However, no specific outcome is guaranteed.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Sports Squares, its creators, operators, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of the App.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

5. Eligibility & User Responsibilities

Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater) to use Sports Squares. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

Legal Compliance

You are solely responsible for determining whether your use of Sports Squares complies with applicable laws in your jurisdiction. The availability of the App does not constitute an offer or invitation in any jurisdiction where such use would be prohibited or restricted by law.

Wallet Security

You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your Solana wallet, including your private keys and seed phrases. Sports Squares will never ask for your private keys or seed phrase.

Accurate Information

You agree to provide accurate information when using the App and to not use the App for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose.

6. Game Administration

Score Entry

Game scores are entered by the designated game administrator and recorded on the Solana blockchain. The administrator commits to entering accurate scores based on official game results. All score entries are publicly verifiable on-chain.

Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute regarding scores or prize distribution, the on-chain transaction records will serve as the authoritative source of truth. If you believe an error has occurred, please contact us at the email address provided below.

Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

7. Privacy Policy

Information We Collect

Sports Squares is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal information:

• Wallet Address: Your public Solana wallet address is recorded on-chain when you make a purchase. This is inherent to blockchain technology and is publicly visible.
• Transaction Data: Purchase amounts, square selections, and timestamps are recorded on the Solana blockchain as part of normal operation.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
• Location data
• Device information or analytics
• Private keys or seed phrases
• Cookies or tracking data

Blockchain Data

All transaction data on the Solana blockchain is public and permanent by design. This includes your wallet address and transaction history associated with Sports Squares. This is a fundamental property of blockchain technology and not something we control.

Third-Party Services

The App connects to the Solana blockchain via RPC providers (such as Helius) to read and submit transactions. These providers may have their own privacy policies regarding network request data. The App also interacts with your chosen Solana wallet application for transaction signing.

Data Security

We do not maintain servers or databases that store your personal information. All game data resides on the Solana blockchain. Your wallet security is managed by your wallet application and is your sole responsibility.

Children's Privacy

Sports Squares is not intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

8. Intellectual Property

The Sports Squares name, logo, and application design are the property of the Sports Squares team. The App is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the NFL, any NFL team, or any other professional sports organization.

Team names and references used within the App are for identification purposes only and remain the property of their respective owners.
